Job Scope
The Site manager is responsible for the oversight and operation of an industrial biological Wastewater facility on a day-to-day basis. They are responsible for the safe operation of the plant. Duties will include planning and scheduling of work, supervision of operators, coordinating the purchase of chemicals, spare parts, maintenance and repairs of equipment, and ensuring that all contract terms & conditions and guarantees are satisfactory managed. This position will require some weekend work as well as being on call to cover emergencies during off hours. The position requires a high level of professional leadership.
Key Responsibilities
• Responsible for the development and implementation of a site-specific Safety Plan.
• Strong working knowledge of industrial wastewater treatment technologies including; physical and chemical processes, DAF operation, oil and grease removal, biological (anaerobic and aerobic), and metals removal.
• Responsible for hiring, training and managing 4-5 direct reports (operators).
• Develop the site-specific documentation including procedures, work instruction, process control plans and process flows.
• Responsible for planning and conducting audits that review the operations, maintenance, compliance with regulations and contract requirements.
• Responsible for forecasting and controlling cost for the assigned responsibilities.
• Responsible for developing strong working relationships with the customer, operators and Nalco sales team. projects.
• Accountable developing the training materials, schedule and conducting the training for site personnel to ensure that they have the skills and knowledge to perform their roles safely, efficiently and effectively.
• Supports the business development process in the retention and extension of contracts.
Minimum Qualifications
• Iowa Grade 3 or 4 Wastewater Treatment Operator certification required.
• A minimum of 5 years’ experience in the operations and maintenance of wastewater or water operations.
• A minimum 3 years’ experience managing or supervising employees. • Operations experience in an administrative and budgetary role.
• Computer literacy. Preferred Qualifications
• Bachelor's Degree in technical field/engineering or equivalent
Relocation assistance may be provided, as well as a company provided vehicle.
This is a full-time position, and the salary is based on experience but nothing below $85,000 yearly. Typically, Monday – Friday, some nights and weekends as needed.
